At Mobile World Congress Americas in Los Angeles, Georges Karam was interviewed by Mobile World Live. He was asked about Sequans’ Monarch LTE Platform and the inroads it has made as an LTE for IoT solution around the world.
Monarch is indeed a global solution. It is a proven dual-mode solution, supporting both LTE-M and NB-IoT, and it can support all global LTE bands via our Single-SKU™ technology.
Monarch is now certified by multiple carriers in USA and Japan, and certification is pending with other carriers in other parts of the world.
Monarch is today used in many IoT applications, including M2M and telematics applications, and tracking applications for people, pets, and assets. We are seeing new Monarch-powered devices coming online at a faster rate, and this will continue to accelerate.
Our Monarch family of products provides a solution for almost any IoT application. We have introduced Monarch SiP, an ultra-compact solution made in partnership with Skyworks that integrates the RF front end. It is the world’s smallest and thinnest connectivity solution and it has already been adopted by Trackimo for IoT trackers, the first of which is available now, and it has already been certified by Verizon.
Our Monarch SX solution is now sampling. Monarch is an SoC designed for wearables. It combines our Monarch chip with everything needed to design wearables, including an ARM processor, a sensor hub, a graphics engine, display controller—all in one smart platform.
Carriers are rolling out Monarch-based solutions all over the world.
