ThingSpace Ready is Verizon’s IoT Accelerator program for OEMs, who are the key players when it comes to the IoT space.

The OEM’s have several channels to market, including directly to the Enterprises, through System Integrators and distributors to the Enterprises, and directly through the carriers. ThingSpace Ready was created for two key reasons:

  • The uptake of IoT connections continues to demonstrate slower than anticipated growth.
  • To respond to the programs and incentives being provided by our competitors in the IoT space.

What It Is

ThingSpace Ready:

  • Allows easier onboarding for OEMs on the Verizon network.
  • Provides key advantages to the OEM, mainly significant cost savings and reduced time to market.
  • Accelerates the entire process of OEMs launch of an IoT device, from design through to activation on the cellular network.
  • Partners have been identified to provide the biggest advantages to the OEM’s, from price, to acquisition, and integration.
  • Helps the OEM to navigate through the many suppliers, and cost models that exist throughout the entire IoT Eco-System.
  • Provides services and incentives from partners as well as Verizon.

The components are provided by Verizon directly, or through a ThingSpace Ready partner:

  • Design Houses (partners)
  • Module Vendors (partners)
  • SIM Providers (partners)
  • Certification (Verizon)
  • Distribution
  • Pricing & Activation (Verizon)
  • Lifecycle (Verizon)
  • Initial focus of the program is the Hardware components, but will later add System Integrators and Cloud Providers.
  • Transparent pricing for modules and SIMS is provided from our partners.

The following incentives are available to OEMs using the Verizon ThingSpace Ready program:

  • Up to 100 hours of design credits through a ThingSpace design house partner (estimated $20K savings)
  • Pre-negotiated module pricing from the ThingSpace vendors
  • Pre-negotiated pricing on SIM cards
  • Free device certification through December 31, 2018

Verizon is offering a $1.50 per device Bill Initiated Credit/Rebate to incent OEMs to launch devices using the Verizon network. Credit gets applied after device has been active on the network for 90 days.

Availability of additional ThingSpace services such as:

  • Diagnostics
  • FOTA
  • Location
  • Security

Note: Incentives and Benefits Are Only Available through ThingSpace Ready.
