Base Station and Subscriber Station Units on Display at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, February 11-14
BARCELONA, Mobile World Congress — February 11, 2008 – Sequans Communications and Tecom Co. LTD, a leading telecommunications equipment manufacturer of Taiwan, have introduced a comprehensive Tecom WiMAX product series including Mobile WiMAX Wave 2 base stations and subscriber stations using Sequans state-of-the-art chip solutions as the main design platform. On display at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona are pico and femto base station units and several end user devices, including a USB dongle, ExpressCard, desktop CPE (modem and access gateway/IAD), and PCMCIA card.
The Sequans chips Tecom is using are WiMAX Forum Wave 2 ready, including 2X2 MIMO and both PHY and MAC functionality. The award-winning SQN1130 chip for mobile stations delivers industry-leading high throughput, low power consumption, and superior receiver sensitivity as a function of Sequans’ patent-pending mimoMAX™ technology. The SQN2130 chip for base stations provides flexibility and scalability to build any size base station–femto, pico, micro, or macro and delivers industry-leading high throughput to serve tens of thousands of simultaneous users.
