PARIS — February 3, 2009 – Sequans Communications, the world’s leading WiMAX chipmaker, has expanded its executive team, appointing Luc Seraphin to the position of vice president, worldwide sales, where he will manage Sequans’ global sales and support organization. Sequans’ three regional sales executives, Michael Class, VP of sales, Americas; Pini Sagi, VP of sales, Europe, Middle East, Africa; and Robert Fogliani, VP of sales, Asia Pacific; and Guillaume Vilcocq, head of Sequans’ global support group, continue in their roles, now part of the expanded organization headed by Seraphin.
“We are very pleased to add Luc to our team,” said Georges Karam, Sequans CEO. “Our customers will benefit from the additional resources of our expanded team and especially from Luc’s extensive experience running global sales and support teams in the high tech world.”
Seraphin comes to Sequans from Nemerix, a GPS products and technology company, where he was CEO and managing director and, before that, head of the Nemerix sales organization. Prior to Nemerix, Seraphin was executive vice president and GM of the terminals division at Agere Systems.
“Sequans has a bright future and I am excited to be part of such a great team,” said Seraphin. “The team has executed very well each step of the way on the road to becoming the leading WiMAX chipmaker, and even in the face of the economic downturn, they will remain a number one chipmaker.”
