PARIS and CUPERTINO, Calif. – March 18, 2009 – Sequans Communications, the world’s leading WiMAX chipmaker, announced today that it has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA, a leading global independent quality assurance organization). Sequans is one of the first few companies to achieve certification for this newest ISO 9001:2008 standard, just published in November of 2008.
ISO 9001:2008 is an internationally recognized standard for quality management systems and the certification recognizes Sequans’ successful implementation of a total quality management system across all its worldwide locations, including its corporate headquarters in Paris, France, its USA office in Cupertino, California, and its other offices in Reading, United Kingdom, Singapore, Israel, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. The certification covers the design, development, manufacturing and sales of broadband wireless semiconductors, integrated circuits, and solutions.
“ISO certification gives our customers confidence that our focus on providing high quality products and solutions is backed by excellent quality processes,” said Georges Karam, Sequans CEO. “We are pleased to offer this additional assurance to our customers and pleased to have achieved ISO certification on our first attempt—a testament to the determination and discipline of our team.
“Meeting the stringent requirements of the ISO certification audit procedure demonstrated Sequans’ ability to deliver rapid response times and scale its organization efficiently to meet the growing global demand for broadband wireless semiconductor solutions in high volume. We are able to serve our global customer base excellently now and well into the future.”
