First products include a CPE and a PCIe module

PARIS, France – November 9, 2015 – LTE chipmaker Sequans Communications S.A. (NYSE: SQNS) and Tricheer Technology Co., a leading mobile device designer and manufacturer based in Shanghai, have established a partnership whereby Tricheer has adopted Sequans’ LTE-Advanced chipsets to build mobile devices for several markets in Europe and Asia. The first products to be introduced are a CPE and a module for Europe, featuring carrier aggregation and category 6 throughput according to 3GPP Release 10 specifications.

“Tricheer has a reputation for excellence in mobile device design and our collaboration will bring high quality LTE-Advanced services to many markets in Europe and Asia,” said Craig Miller, VP of marketing, Sequans Communications. “Tricheer has been very successful developing untapped markets and we are happy to contribute our LTE technology to new products that have the potential to reach millions of new users with advanced mobile services.”

The new products include a CPE, the LT683S, and a PCIe module, the LM933S. Both products feature carrier aggregation, combining LTE bands 42 and 43, and deliver Category 6 (CAT 6) throughput of 225 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink.

“We chose Sequans’ LTE-Advanced technology because of its extraordinary carrier aggregation capability and its overall superior performance, said Gang Chen, executive vice president of Tricheer. We are pleased to have Sequans as a strategic technology partner and we look forward to bringing many new LTE-Advanced devices to markets around the world.”

The new Tricheer products are based on Sequans’ Cassiopeia LTE-Advanced platform. Cassiopeia is a member of Sequans’ StreamrichLTE™ family of products for high-performance, feature-rich LTE mobile devices. Cassiopeia supports CAT 6 throughput and dual carrier aggregation in any standard combination up to 20 + 20 MHz. Cassiopeia includes an integrated network and application CPU and Sequans AIR™ interference cancelation technology. It supports advanced features including VoLTE and eMBMS and is software upgradable to 3GPP Release 11.
