Bharti Airtel deploying Sequans-powered LTE devices in India

New single-mode LTE CPE launching nationwide

PARIS, France – February 25, 2015 – Sequans Communications S.A. (NYSE: SQNS) announced that its LTE chipset technology is powering the single mode LTE CPEs being deployed by Bharti Airtel for its subscribers in India.  Bharti Airtel is one of India’s largest mobile operators with more than 100 million subscribers.

The CPE complies with 3GPP Release 9 specifications and provides category 4 throughput with data rates up to 150 Mbps in the downlink.  It features integrated high-gain antennas with MIMO technology, combining powerful RF circuit design, highly integrated software, network router and smart industrial design.  The new CPE, manufactured by one of the largest ODMs in Taiwan, is designed to meet all the stringent requirements of SME customers, but is also for residential customers.

The LTE technology inside the new CPE is Sequans Mont Blanc LTE chipset platform. Mont Blanc is a category 4 single mode LTE solution, comprising Sequans’ baseband SOC and LTE-optimized transceiver, an integrated network and application CPU, a comprehensive software package, and reference designs.  Mont Blanc is a member of Sequans’ StreamrichLTE family of products for high performance, feature-rich LTE devices.
