Standards Delegate / PHY Architect, Tel  Aviv, Israel or Paris, France or Reading, UK


We are searching for a Standards Delegate / PHY Architect to join our CTO office. Within a team of systems architects with background covering most aspects of cellular modem technology (SW, HW, RF, signal processing, standardization) and working ahead of the development teams, you will represent Sequans at regular 3GPP RAN1 standardization meetings to understand the evolution of new features, their value to our customers and the impact on our product designs, in terms of both HW and SW. . 


  • Identify, evaluate, and judge market trends
  • Summarize goals and challenges of new features and recognize who the main drivers of proposals are as well as their motivations
  • Draft proposals for standard changes and assist with drafting specification documents to translate customer targets to more detailed specifications for our engineering teams. This may require outlines of solutions, feasibility studies or concept designs, for example by evaluating different algorithms in simulation and then work with the engineering and development teams to integrate these solutions into our products
  • Manage also non-3GPP adaptations and enhancements for highly customized applications
  • Work with product managers and contribute to defining our detailed hardware and software roadmaps for features relating to physical layer processing and product performance


  • Good technical knowledge of cellular technology, in particular physical layer. Understanding of cellular ecosystem or the semiconductor market is a plus
  • Understanding of system design, DSP and algorithm design. Ability to prototype solutions in simulation
  • Confident, comfortable, professional and effective when facing customers and suppliers
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, autonomous, fast learner
  • Excellent communication and presentation

Required Experience:

  • Engineering degree in Telecommunication, Electronics, or similar
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Cellular/WiFi or similar
  • Experience in standardization (IEEE, 3GPP), ideally in 3GPP RAN1
