AT&T Certifies Sequans Monarch 2 GM02S LTE-M/NB-IoT Module
Industry’s top performing cellular IoT module now ready for AT&T customers
Sequans newest module, the Monarch 2 GM02S, supporting LTE-M and NB-IoT, is now certified by AT&T and approved to operate on AT&T’s network. Certification of the module by AT&T follows the June 1 ADAPT certification of the Monarch 2 (SQN3430) chip on which the module is based.
Industry’s Most Advanced LTE Cat M1/NB1/NB2 Solution
Monarch 2 GM02S is the industry’s most advanced LTE Cat M1/NB1/NB2 connectivity solution. It is based on Sequans’ second-generation Monarch 2 chip platform, which is designed and optimized to support massive IoT. Monarch 2 provides significant improvements in performance and power consumption, while providing seamless migration for Monarch 1 customers because it is based on Sequans’ existing LTE-M/NB-IoT protocol stack—one of the most mature and proven in the entire LTE ecosystem. Monarch 2 GM02S is the first member of Sequans next generation S-series module family, featuring a very small yet cost-effective form factor that requires no external components.
Powerful Support for Integrated SIM (iUICC)
Monarch 2 GM02S provides powerful support for integrated SIM (iUICC), enabled by its integrated high level EAL5+ secure enclave that is standards-based and GSMA-compliant, providing security for IoT devices that is best in class. Monarch 2 GM02S also includes Sequans’ Single-SKU™ RF front end, supporting deployment in any band worldwide, for true global deployment capability. A low-power application MCU allows customers to port their own code into the module via a feature rich SDK. On top of its ultra-low power consumption, Monarch 2 GM02S utilizes a single rail power supply starting at 2.2 V, the lowest voltage supported by any LTE-M/NB-IoT module in the industry today, thereby unlocking more battery efficiency and eBOM savings.
The Monarch 2 GM02S module has been shipping in volume since early 2021 and is being used to add LTE-M and/or NB-IoT connectivity to IoT devices of all types, including utility meters, sensors, trackers, and wearables for applications including smart home, smart city, ehealth, industrial, agricultural, financial, and security.
