Mobile WiMAX

Sequans is setting the standard for base station or mobile station chips for mobile WiMAX Wave 1 and Wave 2 profiles. All chips are in volume production.

The Wave 1 subscriber station chip, released in 2006, set new industry records for low power consumption. Sequans then improved upon its own performance with the release of the Wave 2 MIMO chip in 2007, which incorporates Sequans' patent-pending mimoMAX™ technology, reducing power consumption even further, increasing throughput, and demonstrating beyond a shadow of a doubt that Sequans chips are uniquely suited for battery-powered handheld devices.

Sequans' Mobile WiMAX base station chips can be used to build any size base station—femtocell, micro, or multi-sector macro—allowing networks to be architected with the flexibility to serve a range of applications, from home gateways, to small base stations for sparsely populated rural areas and large base stations for densely populated urban areas.
