Key Benefits of sqn2131
Flexible, Total Solution
The SQN2131 is a highly integrated MAC and PHY baseband solution. The combination of small size, low-cost, and low-power consumption, provides maximum flexibility to build base stations in various sizes, in TDD or FDD mode, with no compromise in features or functionality. The SQN2131 interfaces with a range of RF solutions from Sequans’ partners, primarily those with low power and MIMO-capable RFIC solutions for femtocells. Products based on the SQN2131 are easily integrated into existing deployed networks via standard interfaces to ASN gateways.
Ideal for Femtocells with Cell Sniffing Capability
The SQN2131’s high level of integration and built-in dynamic power optimization techniques are ideal for base stations with strong constraints on cost, power consumption, and footprint. A low cost host/network processor may be used to run Sequans’ software solution, S3MAX™, along with customer applications. The SQN2131 can be used in association with SQN1130, Sequans’ mobile station SOC, to provide cell sniffing capability and interference cancellation methods to counteract near-far effects. The SQN2131 supports several synchronisation methods.
High Throughput Serves Large Number of Users
The SQN2131 can support up to 20 simultaneous users and operates at the full line rate, translating to throughput of more than 40 Mbps. In addition to advanced MIMO, the SQN2131 supports hybrid-ARQ up to category 6 to enhance RF link robustness.
Full-featured MAC Layer
Sequans’ extremely efficient MAC implementation is strategically partitioned between hardware and software to maximize throughput and minimize power consumption. Complete support for mobility is provided, in particular for optimized handover, sleep and idle modes, and uplink/downlink adaptation algorithms. Additional Sequans features include flexible uplink/downlink ratios for applications such as video surveillance services, dynamic frequency selection (DFS) for unlicensed frequency bands, and automatic MIMO A/B switch.
