SQN1140 / 1145 mobile station: leading RFIC technology
Mobile WiMAX wave 2 ready RF ics
The SQN1140 (for 2.5 GHz) or the SQN1145 (for 3.5 GHz) combines with the SQN1130 for a baseband plus RF solution that allows manufacturers to build a wide range of Mobile WiMAX end user devices such as fixed terminals (CPEs or gateways) and PC plug-in cards (USB dongles, PCMCIA and ExpressCards); it can also be embedded directly into portable devices (notebooks, handsets, consumer devices).
Direct Conversion
The SQN1140/1145 provides direct conversion RF transceivers in both transmit
and receive paths, eliminating the need for bulky and expensive intermediate frequency filters.
Superior Receiver Sensitivity
The SQN1140/1145’s on-chip, high gain low noise amplifiers (LNAs) and digitallycontrolled
AGC circuits provide excellent receiver sensitivity and full scale
dynamic range.
Flexible, High Performing RF Solution
The combined Sequans baseband/RF chipset (SQN1140 or SQN1145 RF chip combined with the SQN1130 baseband chip) is the lowestis power Mobile WiMAX solution available today. The combination of small size and low-power consumption provide maximum flexibility, making it suitable for the manufacture all types of end user devices, and for direct integration into mobile handsets and PDA’s.
Supports 2X2 MIMO and Sequans’ Advanced mimoMAX Technology
The SQN1140/1145’s dual Tx and Rx transceiver supports single or dual Tx/Rx or single Tx/dual Rx MIMO operation. It is designed to support Sequans’ advanced MIMO technology, mimoMAX, which enables Sequans’ baseband chip, the SQN1130, to deliver maximum likelihood MIMO performance with low power consumption.
Low Power Consumption
The SQN1140/1145 consumes only 290 mW of power in receive MIMO mode, and 195 mW in transmit mode (single transmit). The SQN1140/1145 supports several standby modes of operation to further minimize power consumption.
Reference Designs
Sequans provides various reference designs to customers based on the combination of SQN1130 and SQN1140/1145, including an ExpressCard and an SDIO module. These are delivered, along with full hardware documentation, to ODMs and OEMs, to enable the manufacture of a wide array of device types, addressing all segments of the market. Sequans partners with WIMAX test equipment vendors to provide access to ready-to-go test equipment, which allows for large test coverage and quick calibration, testing, and integration in a factory environment.
