PARIS, France – June 22, 2016 – Sequans Communications S.A. (NYSE: SQNS) announced that Verizon Wireless has certified a new Sequans-powered category 4 (Cat 4, 150 Mbps) LTE module operating on bands 2, 4, and 13, enabling devices based on it to operate on Verizon’s nationwide 4G LTE network. The surface-mountable VZ30L module, based on Sequans’ Colibri Cat 4 LTE chipset platform, is designed to meet the demand of LTE device-makers for a simple, all-in-one, LTE connectivity solution for the design of high performance devices such as home and mobile routers for consumers, as well as industrial routers and gateways, digital signage, vehicle telematics, and more. Sequans also announced that Verizon has certified the Colibri platform for VoLTE, enabling devices and applications with voice to run on its network.

“With this new tri-band module, device makers have a solid solution for many types of devices requiring high throughput,” said Craig Miller, Sequans VP of worldwide marketing. “The module is based on Sequans’ industry-leading, LTE Cat 4 Colibri chipset, and it comes pre-integrated and pre-certified, enabling very fast time to market.”

At the heart of the module is Sequans’ LTE Cat 4 chipset platform, Colibri, which includes baseband and RF ICs, an integrated network and application CPU running Sequans’ carrier-proven LTE protocol stack, an IMS client, and a comprehensive software package for over-the-air device management and packet routing. The all-in-one module design then adds a complete multi-band RF front-end for LTE bands 2, 4, and 13, all necessary IoT interfaces, support for all major operating systems, LP-DDR SDRAM, embedded Flash memory, and state-of-the-art power management.

Verizon has also certified Colibri for VoLTE applications on its network, following the earlier certification of Sequans’ Calliope Cat 1 platform for VoLTE, These certifications highlight the comprehensive support Sequans provides for advanced LTE features required by many devices targeting the Verizon network.
