ALVARION CHOOSES SEQUANS MOBILE WIMAX CHIPS FOR NEXT GENERATION PICO BASE STATIONS
Industry’s First Single-Chip MAC/PHY Solution Gets Major Endorsement
CHICAGO, WIMAX WORLD USA, BOOTH 814 — September 24, 2007 — SEQUANS Communications, a leading supplier and developer of fixed and Mobile WiMAX® semiconductor solutions, has been selected by Alvarion, provider of the most widely deployed WiMAX systems in the world, to supply Alvarion with its new Mobile WiMAX base station chips. Alvarion plans to use the chips to build pico base stations and implement its additional unique technology and advanced features above the 802.16e standard.

Sequans’ SQN2130 chip is the industry’s first ASIC optimized for Mobile WiMAX base stations. It supports TDD and FDD and delivers high throughput to serve tens of thousands of subscriber stations, delivering the full line rate even with small packet sizes.
