SEQUANS APPOINTS VP MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, AND LAUNCHES ITS OPERATIONS IN THE US
Paris, France – September 7, 2004 — SEQUANS Communications, a fabless semi-conductor company in the 802.16/WIMAX space, has appointed Bernard Aboussouan as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. Aboussouan is a long-term veteran in the broadband access industry, and was most recently occupying the same function at BeamReach Networks, a provider of broadband wireless access systems based on OFDMA and Adaptive Antenna Systems.
In his new position, Aboussouan will lead strategic marketing, product line management, marketing communications, customers and industry alliances. Also, he will be in charge of launching Sequans’ operations in the US, thus extending Sequans’ global presence.
'Bernard is a great addition to the management team. He brings the right mix of industry knowledge, deep understanding of system vendors’ and network operators’ requirements, and leadership skills” said Georges Karam, President and CEO of Sequans. “Through his industry contacts he will help us position Sequans as a leading supplier of silicon and embedded software for WiMAX-based systems.'
'I am thrilled to join such an experienced and talented team” said Bernard Aboussouan. “It is very rare to find a team with such a strong reputation, and a proven track record in delivering complex wired and wireless Broadband Access systems. Their last experience at Pacific Broadband Communications/Juniper Networks, delivering high performance cable modem termination systems based on their own silicon, and obtaining CableLabs certification on first pass, is impressive”.
Prior to BeamReach Networks, Aboussouan has held several senior management positions at Harris Corporation and Nortel Networks.
