Senior Field Application Engineer

Responsibilities:

Working within the Sales organization, you will provide pre-sales and post-sales activities for Sequans' System-on-Chips solutions for system vendors developing 802.16/WiMAX products. You are the primary interface to Sequans' licensed customers for all technical aspects of Sequans solutions. You are in charge of customer project management and work closely with the regional VP of Sales to drive Sequans' revenues. Through your technical expertise and project management skills, you assist customers in all development stages of their products and contribute to major design wins by promoting Sequans' products. You will perform the following activities:

Provide project management and frontline technical support for licensed customers during all phases of product development.
Provide customer training for Sequans hardware and software products.
Assist OEM customers in their selection and partnership with third-party ODM vendors.
Assist prospects in their evaluation of Sequans' solutions. This activity includes promoting Sequans' solutions, presenting Sequans' products and roadmaps, supporting technical due diligence, tests with Sequans' evaluation kits and so on.
Work with Sales to identify business opportunities and qualify new prospects.
Respond to RFIs and RFPs. Analyze requirements for customer-specific developments.
Assess new customer needs and work with product marketing team to meet customer expectations.
Provide product demonstrations and attend major tradeshows to promote Sequans' products.

Your Profile

You are a highly-skilled engineer with expertise in at least real-time embedded software development, MAC layer protocol design, Digital Signal Processing, and/or RF Design. After several years or experience in the telecommunications industry, you have developed good system understanding and you are willing to learn new wireless technologies.

You are a hands-on engineer with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to install full end-to-end systems and perform detailed testing.

You are fast learner, autonomous, team-oriented and self-motivated. You are willing to travel to customer locations and you have strong interpersonal skills.

Required Experience

Engineering degree
Seven years or more of experience in the telecommunications and/or microelectronics industry
System-level knowledge of broadband wireless access systems
Previous experience in R&D and with the full product development cycle
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Fluent English, other languages required depending on the location
